Well I had the test ride of the Tuono Factory this morning. Perfect weather (here in Auckland) but dealer quite far from best roads to try it out. I did find some super twisty tarmac but despite being NSL was with lots of driveways so had to be quite careful.

What to say. It was epic but a bit alarming after the GSXR 750. Although I was riding pretty conservatively the front wheel kept wanting to come up and at one point I was “saved” by the electronics as had the back step out unintentionally when I wound on a bit of power coming out of a tight bend (it really was just a bit - I didn’t just crack open the throttle). I say saved because with the Suzuki I wouldn’t have had enough torque to break traction like that.

Dealer offering special discount. Just over £13k for new bike.

Very tempting.

After posting I checked out Wheels Peterborough website and they are selling them for £14k with a £3k discount so about the same price in the UK. So perhaps not such a great deal.

I've had 2 gsxr 750s and I'm on my second tuono 1100

The deals from wheels normally on run out last year stock is typically always very good

You have to ride the Tuono a bit different to the gsxr. I ride with WC off but it's mid range torque needs to be controlled a bit different or it'll flip you easily in 1st and 2nd. I've been really going some before changing from 2nd to 3rd over a crest and had it come up still fairly quick

Learn to ride it though for what it is and they are phenomenal bikes
