Having finally bought my dream car a tvr tuscan and loving every minute, I noticed the car getting extremely hot inside and no matter what settings the heating control is on, I still have to have the window open to try and cool it down.
Any ideas as to the problem anyone

Has it got a/c?

Yes but nothing seems to happen when altering any of the controls even though the little lights work

When you press the fan control does a blue light come on?

My a/c is pretty effective (in TVR ventilation terms) so perhaps it just needs a regas.

Yes the blue light comes on, and I have tried all different settings, fan on, hot cold ac on and off all ways but just hot air comes out and strangely the gear knob and hand break handle get quite hot, is that normal on a tvr

Has it definitely got air con? The blue LED will light up regardless.

Very true. The blue LED doesn’t mean that you necessarily have aircon.

TVR pioneered the heated gearknob and handbrake lever years before anyone thought of heated steering wheels, rofl

Could be the heater ECU, mine developed a mind of its own last year on heat/fan despite what was set. I also think there is a flapper valve in the coolant circuit that bleeds into the ventilation system that can get stuck.

Taylor TVR. Highly recommended and only around 25 miles from you.
Alternatively, try Kent TVR's mobile service.
