A Fiat 130 Coupe is on my Like To Have One Day List if that counts.

Thread useless without pics.

I've never had one, but I did see one in December at a local Classic Car meet complete with blue velour interior.

And it had a manual gearbox!

Then I went to the same place earlier this month and there was a 130 Saloon! Sadly the Coupe owner had gone there in his Citroen SM. laugh

Back in the early '80's my, then, boss had a 130 saloon. On occasion I drove him around in it and loved it, had town and country horns, as I recall, and have never seen them on another car since.

A Coupe was, and is, still one of my dream cars.

The coupe is one of the few Pininfarina designs slated for my Euromillions collection.

Anyone interested in owning one would do well to read Martin Buckley's decade-worth of journals about his. https://www.classicandsportscar.com/features/our-c...

Ultimately, I'd really like to own the Maremma shooting brake, built for Gianni Agnelli

The interior is fabulous!

I had one in metallic blue with light blue velour. It was in amazing condition but I sold it for a silly low price after a couple of mechanical issues and getting worried that rear screens were not available anymore. Shortly after it occurred to me that I've never had to replace a rear screen in any car I've owned.

Absolutely love the 130 Coupe, although I have a feeling one could be a 'challenge' to own thanks to those two familiar old rascals... rust and parts availability.

On the other hand you've got that stylish interior and of course those sumptuous velour seats (leather always looks wrong to me in a 130 although I believe it was an option in period). Then of course there's the exterior styling; so simple yet so right. No fussy adornments, Pininfarina at their masterful best - it's all in the proportions and they're perfect.

OP if you're thinking of getting one then I think you should do it... you take all the ball ache and expense while we get to look at the pictures for free while offering words of encouragement laugh go for it!

thats a very cool car and so rare in the UK eve when new. I tried to buy one in the late 80's and even back then buying one was a risky purchase. I then bought a 132 2.0 TC berlina which had quite a few bits in common.... Fiats of that era were way ahead of UK cars in terms of mechanical spec but sadly not in rust proofing. I still want a 130 tc Abarth!

Not a Coupe, but in the late 70s I went to look at a 130 Saloon to replace my 125.

Sadly it wasn't a good example and I ended up buying a Rover P6B 3500S.

But like others on here I'd still love to own a Coupe - they just looked so great!

I had a 130 coupe a few years ago. Very nice car (a rare RHD auto) but I never used it much for expanding family reasons.

I would highly recommend one as a useable classic car, LHD is fine as the views out are panoramic.

The worst issue with it was the auto gearbox, really ponderous and annoying and blunts performance. So look for a manual.

And you have to have the velour interior, absolute amazing to sit in a car with such a funky '70's feel, but make sure it is in good condition - not cheap to repair

Thanks for all the replies.
Slurpysi, i agree with you the car for me must have that crushed velour look interior over the leather and i do prefer the manual box.

This car just came up but imo it's overpriced and has two features not in its favour as mentioned above.

My brother presently has 4 or 5 of these in varying states of repair. He has owned some of them for nearly 40 years.
