I've had sky Q for around two months now and find it very frustrating.

Issues as follows

Sound drop out on recorded programs, downloaded films or on netflix through the surround sound.

The fans going at full blast even though the box is on standby. Requires unplug and restart.

Using the bluetooth to play music from my phone It'll work for a few songs then go into meltdown. Requires a unplug and restart to get the box going again.

Anyone else suffering from these problems? i'd have thought issues would have been ironed out on the new boxes?

We’ve a mixture of main 2TB box with 3 minis. The biggest problem (which lasted 8 months) was the apparently wonderful ‘mesh’ wifi and the Sky broadband. Dropouts every 10 minutes and blue screen on the mini and sometimes even the 2TB despite it getting its signal from the dish. I wasted many hours trying things, chatting online to Sky, waiting for engineers and their recommendation was to hardwire it - cutting edge eh?
I got BT broadband with plenty minidiscs and now all’s well. The Sky tv service still isn’t a patch on the Virgin Tivo V6 I had to leave behind at the last house but VM don’t cover here frown

Sky Q 2Tb with one mini here for nearly a year, and Sky Fibre broadband. The only problems we’ve had are due to the OpenReach side of it. Faster than when with BT and PlusNet by about 30%. I didn’t even know the boxes had fans!

Using an Ethernet connection for both the main box and minis has made our setup much faster and reliable.

Having a connection at every box is a big ask but using home plugs would be just as good I imagine. Getting the minis to use a wired connection isn’t obvious but google is your friend.
