I replaced the PS pump and belt on my Audi A4 2003 3.0 petrol v6, the mrs has driven it about 20 miles maximum this week and went to check the fluid level (just to be sure it hadnt dropped since the pump and belt change) and it was actually lime green in colour? Not the clear, dark green colour it was when we filled it, but a bright, lime green colour (think milk with lime green colouring added)

Any ideas please??

Was it just after a drive? Probably air bubbles in the fluid. If not, it’s the old fluid that was already in the rack when you changed the pump, mixed with the new oil

Hi mate

Not after a drive but it had been running on the driveway for 5 minutes, and it was bubbling so guessing it was flwoing through properly?

Reason I'm asking is theres quite a bit leaked out from somewhere, under the car (dark green fluid) so was expecting the reservior to be empty, but, its still as full as it was when we changed the pump??

Sounds like you have air in the system. You’re supposed to bleed it after you change the pump. It’s a simple enough procedure. With the engine off and cold, reservoir cap off, turn the steering wheel full lock left to right 6-7 times then top up the fluid if needed. Let the car sit for 10-15 minutes then repeat the process again. It’s easier if you jack the car up so the front wheels are off the ground.
