How to dilute golden syrup?
Discussion
I like a wee swirl of golden syrup in my porridge in the morning from one of these little plastic squirty bottles. Being a mean Scotsman environmentally conscious, I refill my bottle from a big catering container which is far cheaper better for the environment.
The problem is that the cheap stuff has a slightly thicker consistency than the easy squirt stuff. I've discovered that a quick 10 seconds in the microwave thins it for a few days, but it's a bit of a faff and it tends to crystallise towards the end of the bottle Does anyone here know, can I simply dilute it with a drop of water? Or some other solution?
