Thats not being picky nige the whole point of rules is everyone has a fair crack,it shows disrespect to other competitors, how the organisers failed to spot them ,same with taking a light out for cooling.
What was the top speed on the Supra?

The tyres they used for the fast time were not slicks.

Believe me, ive moaned enough about people using dodgy tyres !!!!

They were using Mickey Thompson ET Streets, which are a a proper super soft compound wrinkle wall bias ply tyre, that have enough grooves and tread depth to get them DOT approval in the US, which makes them legal for the event.

They used a more conventional tyre for the top speed runs, as I dont imagine an ET street would feel nice up top.

Hi Joe, are you planning on going to Elvington this year? If you are you need to fill in a form and send it off with a cheque a bit sharpish!

We have 5 spaces I believe but so far only 2 entries (me and Richard Ross).

They should also enforce a rule, where all cars must drive in and out under their own steam, and they must all use pump fuel.
All cars should have full trim as fitted when new ( allowing for trim removal for fitment of safety devices such as cages though )
Full glass, seats, interiors, headlights.
They should also have to pass an emissions test applicable to the vehicles year of manufacture, as per MOT requirement, which all cars are supposed to have anyway.

Its full for cars that are clearly not road cars anymore, many with dodgy MOT's I would geuss.

I appreciate that, but you know where I'm coming from...

Given the majority of cars are newer than Aug 92, how many still run cats, which are mandatory for MOT ?

Take Keith Cowes Skyline. It has run a 9.3 @ 158 or soemthing recently.
It weighs 1140kgs. Its totally stripped, mostly fibreglass, perspex windows etc etc...

Im not an MOT tester, but I would bet a lot of money that car would never pass an MOT over here, and is in no way a road car.

It may be a fast car...but among other drag cars, its just average. If it was a road car, it would be incredible, but it isnt.
It is a purpose built drag car IMO
