Quatermass (the one with John Mills & Simon MacCorkindale)
Day Of The Triffids (the one with John Duttine, not the steaming pile of horses
t one with Eddie Izzard)
The Changes (70s TV children's TV drama that would never be allowed today)
Night Of The Comet (I do like 1980s big hair !):

Threads.
A really heart-warming and feel-good film.
I saw that when it was transmitted and the cold shivers are still in my mind when I think about it. I have a copy of it but haven't watched it - it is on VHS so you can guess how long I've put off seeing it again!A really heart-warming and feel-good film.
The last Quatermass and On the Beach are good calls too. Also perhaps Contagion? I have not seen that one though.
BBC 'Survivors' 1975 is quite good but bleak and depressing.
You need lots of 12 bore ammunition to get through episode.
Save one round for yourself at the end.
Sadly it has not fared well in this age of re releasing archive stuff.
It was shot on early 1 pixel per inch rubbish video cameras that mean new transfers have no extra detail or resolution.
Not much can be recovered or enhanced unlike 35mm film which restores incredibly well as it captured so much detail originally.
