Finally got my Daytona!
Discussion
Thanks guys, yep, extremely pleased, love it and generally not a fan of Rolex watches with a cyclops so between this and the James Cameron I'm good with Rolex for the time being. It's a gorgeous piece, smaller than most of my other watches and when I swap from the deepsea to this it feels like my arms is lighter than air.
@Brads67, yep new from an AD for RRP. Otherwise wouldn't have had to wait! Plenty of them available on the grey market for £20k but I won't pay over RRP.
@Hotjambalaya I got relatively lucky I think, I know some people who have been waiting longer than me and some who picked theirs up even quicker than me. Luck of the draw I suppose but I have a reasonably good relationship with my AD so that might have helped.

Wonder if the call was made to people above you on the list, but they weren't in a position to move on it with the uncertainty around right now?
It's certainly possible, although I was told in November by my AD before everything kicked off that he was expecting it in the next few months and the next white dial ss that arrived was allocated to me. It's possible other people put their names down before me but think I've got a pretty good relationship with my AD and from what I've read that can help.Soleith said:
Longest I've waited for a watch (10 or 11 months) but it arrived 2 days before I had to start working from home!

It looks fantastic. I couldn’t get on the waiting list with Crouch despite buying a S/S Daytona new from them in 2015 and I still have it.Waiting 11 months is brill, many congratulations.
So It took a virus pandemic to shorten up the so called wait list . Believe it or not hoarding is the most unfashionable thing at the moment, (only sayin!), expect phone calls from many grovelling AD sales staff as people put their prioritys into prospective and ignore unnecessary expenditure, There are going to be shop safes busting at the seems with the things. Supply and demand will always prevail and I can see demand shrinking to record lows. Why should Rolex be imune from this ? They wont be.

Rolex has shut down its factories for the moment so suspect not that many more right now. Additionally I'm still waiting for a 5711/1a and don't realistically expect that anytime soon but overall I somewhat agree. The obvious recession that's coming as a result of this may mean some people drop off the various waitlists.harleywilma said:
