Just got quoted £1,200 for a front end respray! This is a bit strong isn't it?
Can anyone recomend a good company to carry out the work at a reasonable price? I'm in the Bournemouth area.

A word of warning. There are people out there who will throw some paint on a car for £60 or £100 a panel, similarly there are others who ask £500 a panel or more. We see some horrific paintwork on cars and it`s usually no fault of the owner. No one stands there and says "we`ll charge you £x but in fairness it`s going to be as rough as arseholes." They are all masters of the gun until you see the results.

In general you get what you pay for, though lots of money doesn`t guarantee a good job.

The best people we`ve yet come accross are Fastlane paint and body in St Albans. Tel 01727 852147 ask for Mark and tell him Henry sent you, they`ll look after you.

As usual no connections with the company other than we pay them to do paintwork for us.

There will no doubt be others who offer painter`s names after receiving good work form them. The trouble is that each job has it`s own problems and no two are the same. What seems like a simple job may in fact be a nighmare and what seems impossible might actually be a doddle. Many moons ago I learnt to paint and used to do quite a lot of it so I have a fair understanding.
