Dead in the water

Only take it out when it's dry & sunny.... you can then also leave your roof panels at home too!
Being serious.. Worth checking the coil. What are the symptoms? Does it cough/splutter, throttle becomes unresponsive etc.
If all else fails, take a hosepipe to your car while the engine is running and check each part of the car seperately until you find the area where the problem starts. This should help narrow down the possibilities.

NickP,
Unfortunately you don't get to pick and choose sunny days when you live in the North East !!!!
You can leave home with shades on and roof off only to pull over 10 mins later to frantically try and get roof panels back on before drenching the interior.
I did just as you suggested last night starting with the fuel pump as per spivvys suggestion and lo and behold that is the problem area - stripped cables and connectors and re made them insulating with tape however still happening when sprayed with water ?????
Think it is maybe the actual housing where the cables meet the fuel pump so am scratting round in the stores at work for some heat shrink sleeving.
