I saw what looked like a Red Arrows Hawk, well the fuselage anyway, on the back of a lorry on the M25 today.

Do they have display models that they can set up at shows etc? Mind you guess there arent any shows for a while anyway.

There was a Red arrows Hawk in the car park of the "ONE SHOW" earlier in the week as a prop, by two of the red arrows team.

During the show they showed them via clip, a new manoeuvre they have developed.

So it may have been that being returned from whence it came. smile

Ah that makes sense. Wonder where it lives. Taking it to shows like the One show cant be cheap, as it had an escort (normal one with flashing orange lights not police or military) - no criticism of the costs from me just interested in the logistics.

It may have changed now but an events company (can’t remember the name) runs the military stalls these days that go to all the big shows, they have the hawk, typhoon and chinook that go round the country along with an RAF regiment careers lorry and the associated pop up tents.

So imagine they have a lock up for them somewhere down south.

Thanks, makes sense. It must be an interesting lock-up!

Companies like Global Logistics at Colnbrook nr Heathrow do a lot of display movement.
One of their warehouses is like a display case for F1 cars and World Superbikes . I know they do other stuff but I have never been in those warehouses .

Even more interesting as I used to work for a firm with an office in their building, used to visit relatively regularly fr meetings. Never went in the warehouse though!

Like so many of these places it's always the nondescript buildings that hold the best suprises .
I used to collect or deliver to a place at Langley near Slough that is full of big bits of aircraft that are used in filming .
I delivered most of the interior from the film Air Force One and put the owner in touch with a Hawker Hunter gate guard that was up for grabs .
I certainly miss my life out on the road , so many places full of boys toys !

Yup I came across a supercar stored in a railway yard in south London once. The yard was occupied by a scaffolders. have also been in to a warehouse in Ashford that was stuffed full of Roll Royce Phantoms.
