I love the noise of what I consider nice engines (typically V4)

I'm frustrated by my 690 thud and that with earplugs (I get tinnitus without) I can barely hear it despite an end can and any louder would be too anti social.

I'm considering getting a VF500 or a VFR750 just for the noise (with an end can) but does the rider really get to hear it or just the bystanders ?

On a VFR, the rider hears the distinctive geared cams, less so the exhaust.

You could definitely hear the noise of the exhaust on both VFR’s I had. One of the best things about the bike.

I am now becoming interested in an electric motorcycle. So, either a V4 or electric for me.

Surely only on a very old VFR around 1997/8 and earlier. I had a 1997 FT and I think it was the last but one with gear driven cams.

I like a bit of induction noise, and a semi sensible exhaust.

I bought a 2nd hand Termi for the Diavel, rode it once and took it off, too loud, must be getting old!

Gear-drive cams ran until 2001, the 5th gen VFR800 has them.

A mate had one of those and started it up in his garage about 15 years ago... my ears are still ringing.

I have a full a Akra system on my KTM, while I love the noise under acceleration, the pops and bangs can be a bit tedious on the over run some days.

One of the main reasons I bought my MT10 was for the noise. It sounds amazing at high RPM with the decat. I had it remapped a few weeks ago and they've got rid of the gargle and pops and bangs on the over run....I kinda miss it

Remaps and full titanium systems with their baffles removed on 2 of mine.

MT09 and RC51.

I think they sound great of full chat... others maybe not lol

Yep...have a full titanium system on my MV 1090RR...with both baffles in, its just too obnoxious otherwise. I like a bit more noise than standard, but no so much as it give you a headache, or lets the Police know you are coming from 2 miles away wink

That reminds me, take the baffle out of my jacket pocket.

It usualy lives on the garage floor where it lands each time I start the bike. I had to scoop it up and take it with me when I picked the bike up from its MOT.

Can't get enough of the noise of the v4, so much so I've even been known to remove the baffles now and again. Earplugs definitely recommend afterwards

Full system, I do wear plugs but sometimes it's great to just hear her sing, not recommended for garage starts mind you.

I had an early model with 16" front wheel, it had a full hand made Gibson system with left hand high level end can...... sounded amazing

I popped into the office on the MT10 this morning, I'd forgotten how nice it sounds!!!

My 848 Evo is on standard cans but I think it sounds gorgeous too
