Would now be a good time to do DAS + buy a bike
Discussion
As above and also dependant on whether or not bike instructors are all self isolating...
I very recently ordered a Leon Cupra on lease which I have today cancelled given the fact it was a factory order and that I really don't want to sell my current car for peanuts (the trusty Mazda 2 has done me well the last 4 years).
I really don't know if I will find another value for money deal in terms of performance... for a car anyway.
I previously had a CBT but was barely able to use the 125 I bought and so now I am wondering if my best option is to just keep my current car (which I will need to do for at least a while yet anyway) and put my money into doing a DAS, buying or leasing? a bike and also probably investing in some kind of shed to keep it in.
I still have my helmet and jacket thankfully.
Does anyone reckon the prices will also drop for bikes and even potentially DAS if people are reluctant to learn just now?
Any thoughts appreciated

Other threads on here have suggested that their tests (MOD1/2) due to be taken this week, had been cancelled.

This was our logic and then they canned all tests.
And as you'd want to do your tests within your DAS week, it's not a great time.
All i can say is the standard of motoring on the roads atm, given everyone is now staying home and itching to drive during the working day, is now terrible.
Given there's no tests available you might find you can't book a DAS at all. I doubt they'll offer discount (and frankly pick your school based on reviews not price).
EDIT: You COULD do your CBT and get that current, and get the theory done - so DAS is much simpler (perhaps only 4 days if you're good) when tests open up again.

Cool I will contact my local training centre (who have very good reviews) as I know they're still offering training and can ask about tests etc.
I don't have a garage or driveway but have easy access into my back garden. Will some sort of purpose built bike container be necessary or would a normal garden shed with some additional security suffice?

Same idea, just bought a DT125r today to practice on and get some saddle time, will renew my cbt as in an do that next weekend as it stands and then do my mod 1 training and theory ready for the test, then do some das mod 2 training and take the test. Long term I want a ktm duke 390 then see if I want more later.
Such a shame as the roads are fantastic right now, reasonably quiet and theres not yet any sort of ruling about going out on the bike.
