Stupid and pointless CV19 responses.
Discussion
Dunno about other PHers, but I've been seeing quite a bit of laughably pointless stuff apparently aimed at mitigating CV19.
I drive a lorry, so I travel around the country and am potentially a disease vector. Fair enough, I expect to have to jump through a few annoying, but necessary, hoops.
With one exception, what I'm seeing is either (a) no change, or (b) extra paperwork. One questionnaire, from a huge UK distribution firm, asks whether my physical visit is absolutely necessary, and whether I have considered using Skype etc. instead. Another, from a major retailer, asks pertinent questions, but is presented on arrival at an office with 20+ people in it. On asking if it might be more useful to make these enquiries at the gatehouse, I was told that this wasn't possible as the gatehouse is manned by a different company.
We're going to have to get much more serious about this.
The exception is the Co-Op, who now permit drivers to wait to be unloaded in their cabs, rather than in a (very small) waiting room.
