Credit card positive balance question

Due to lots of things being cancelled , and receiving refunds my credit card is now in a positive balance. Is there any way of taking this money and adding it to my normal bank account without incurring fees?

Its a Halifax clarity mastercard if it makes any difference

Yes. Takes a few days usually but they can refund/ transfer the funds.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll give them a call once all monies refunded so I only need to do once. Didn’t realise it was possible as never had it before to this extent.

I had this situation recently with an AMEX card, but I expect your amounts are more significant.
Fell out with them, so stopped using the card to deprive them of merchants fees. They would notice anything , but it just made me feel better.

They suddenly decided that I was correct, so refund all the fees which had been charged..
That put the account into credit.

After a couple of months, they wrote offering to repay the credit amount (by cheque I presume).
I then started to use the card again, which removed the credit balance.

Talk to the card company, a guy at work got a large refund from the Flybe thing so transferred the money into current account and got charged a cash transfer fee!

Just phone them up, they will transfer it to your bank account within a couple of days.

This happened to me a few years ago, positive to the colossal tune of £30. Called the bank, later that day it was in my current account.

This. I booked a load of racing and trips earlier in the year and paid the balance on the card as usual. Now they're all starting to be refunded and my card balance is a few thousand positive (after it wiped out my spending since the last bill)

I'll have the same overall - I will just continue as usual until things are back to normal

I had a similar problem, and the bank informed me that a credit card with a positive balance is the amount YOU COLLECT. And the money will be paid into your bank account without fees the next day at 5:00 a.m. If you're anything like me, I'd suggest reading a nice post on
how to make an extra $1000 a month, which includes a thorough income on real estate investments. I believe you would benefit from knowing how to locate a part-time job so that you may spend more time with your family.

You can request a positive balance be returned online with Amex. I’ve had to do a few times during the pandemic after travel refunds have gone onto my card. It seems to be a fairly simple process these days which is good because talking to other human beings at financial institutions tends to be about as much fun as pulling teeth.

Bank will normally refund very quickly, believe it or not they don’t want to be holding your money.

On the note of spending it be careful as I’m 99.9% sure you don’t get the protection you would normally get using a credit card as you’re spending your own money.
