Just building a driving sim setup, and currently deciding monitor setup. Money wise i can go for 3x Acer 27" 2k monitors at 144hz, or 3x LG 24" 4k monitors (both IPS panels). These will be running off a Ryzen 7 with an RTX2070 GPU, will it be up to running 3 x 4k, or will I be better getting the 2k monitors at the higher refresh?

I ran 3 x 28" 4k monitors util really recently but only at 60hz.
I swapped to a single 144hz monitor just to try and the difference was noticible even for me.

I'm ditching the tripple setup and going for 1 x ultrawide now, much easier setup

No graphics card in the world is capable of pushing 3x 4k screens. Your 2070 will just about manage acceptable framerates with a single 4k screen if you turn the quality down a bit.

For a driving sim I'd absolutely recommend you go for 3 standard HD screens, ideally 27" each. You won't notice the drop in pixels but you'll very much notice the decent framerate.

Or as above, a single decent ultra-wide (3440x1440) will be a lot simpler to set up, if less immersive.

As above you will struggle to run 3x 4k monitors.

If you want reasonable performance you will need a lower resolution.

I notice you mention "2k" which officially refers to 2048x1080. Normally monitors are 1920x1080 and If so this should be totally fine. However if you mean 2560x1440 then even these would be a stretch for a 2070 but no doubt would be doable on reduced settings.

I've just ordered the Alienware AW3418DW, it's 120Hz and 1440p

Why not a 4K ultra wide and not have any joints where the monitors meet? Something like the Samsung 49”

Went with 3 Iiyama 144hz 2k ones in the end, didn't fancy going with 1 large screen, plan to have the outer 2 fold in for safer storage, and can live with the verticle joins. If I don't like the setup off loading 3 cheaper monitors will be easier too. Arrive tomorrow so will see how they go.

Another vote for single ultra wide. I'm saving for one rather than going for triples based on what I've seen and watched.
