Ebay idiots 'inflating' prices

I had a trawl on Ebay, and there are cretins selling eg 18 loo rolls for £66000. I've reported 2 as fraudulent (just follow the 'report an item') because it's clear there is schill bidding going on. Assome of us have 'spare time' staying indoors this is an ideal opportunity to try and get these scammers' account removed (along with their mates!)

They're doing what big business has been doing for years, just look at flight prices during the holidays.

It's basically your normal eBay Joe spoiling the auctions. You can take a certain number of non-paying strikes on your account. So lots of people are going around fking these greedy people over. Sometimes Final Value Fees can be charged to the seller if the auction ends just as his charges are due. Yes the seller will eventually get a refund, but sometimes they still have to pay listing fees.

I am more concerned that people actually take joke Ebay auctions with loo rolls at 66k seriously.

Often a seller will put a hugely inflated price on an item they sell regularly when they are momentarily out of stock so they can keep the listing live for when they do get stock when they re- price it to the proper level

Yup I done this with something I was selling, I lost it or broke it or whatever

Put the price up temporarily to something daft to make sure no one bid

The fees to cancel and re list were a lot

And no-one is going to seriously pay 70k for toilet roll.
