Years and years ago i used to work in a design office but with pencil and film.
I would like to make the most of my time with the crap going on to learn to digitally draw.
I want to be able to produce proposal play area drawings as attached and also 3D

So what software do you recommend?

Thanks Neil

Are you intending to start off with free tools or stump up for licenses?

Two obvious, free, 3D tools that spring to mind are Fusion 360 and Sketchup Free.

Fusion 360 is aimed at mechanical design so would be good for the play equipment. Doing a large site layout might be interesting as it's not really set up for it. I think licenses are still free for startups and hobbyists. Note that it saves to the cloud.

Sketchup is aimed more at architecture / landscaping though simple mechanical stuff is possible. The free version is online (when did this happen?) and can be upgraded for £. I note that the classic PC/Mac based version is still available but that's not free.

There's also a free version of FormZ. I haven't used FormZ for years but it was quite good for banging out ideas.

Not sure about free tools for creating proposals. I tend to end up doing stuff in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. Adobe software is £20/month ex.VAT for a single program or £50/mo for the full Creative Cloud suite.

I will use Powerpoint if requested but I try to avoid this.

It looks to me like you probably need graphics software rather than CAD, take a look at https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/ to see what they can offer you.
