Morning all, with the lockdown in place I'm very glad I recently treated myself to a 2TB SSD for my gaming PC hehe

After some recommendations for some fun games to kill time. there's a far cry bundle on steam I think I'm going to go for, not the most amazing but good to kill time and have some fun gunplay/good story. Any other recommendations? I've got Arma, CSGO, assetto, BeamNG, and a bunch of Gmod, half life etc.

Anyone spotted any good deals?

Factorio is a good time killer =also quite topical as you need to fix small bottlenecks that seem unimportant, but shut down the whole factory if left unattended

Borderlands 2 - just switch your brain off and shoot lots stuff
Total War - take your pick of the games, I keep going back to Rome 2 but I think my most hours is on Warhammer 2
The TellTale story games pass the time well, you need a controller to properly sit back and relax with them though as you can be watching a cutscene and all of a sudden have to press a combination of buttons, you don't want to be hunched over a keyboard the whole time. I've gone through Borderlands and The Wolf among Us but there are loads to choose from.

No specific examples but I can heartily recommend the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a month at £1.

Loads of PC games to play and definitely enough to occupy you for a month at the very least.

Im so with you on that. My missus keeps doing the bugle sound from the other room because she can hear it coming from the game every time im attacked!

Are you like me, in that you know you could finish certain campaign missions in 5 minutes with limited troops, but instead you spend an hour or 2 building up an impregnable base with optimum economy and every military upgrade obtained before you attack??

I just downloaded Tomb Raider 1 to play through.

I was too young when it first came out to play it properly, so good now to actually play it as a story.

Crossout.

Free to play - build cars Max Mad style and then engage in PvP.

Worth a few hours at any rate. The builder is good fun by itself.

Kerbal Space Programme. I've probably spent more time on that that all other games combined over the last few years. Massive modding community so loads of additional stuff you can add on. I'm currently using a mod that allows me to write my own command scripts, so I'm basically now writing software to make the game play itself hehe

Keep an eye on the Epic Games store which, if you are signed up, gives away a couple of free games each week. I have just picked up Watchdogs with Assassin's Creed Syndicate a couple of weeks ago and The Wolf among Us a couple of weeks or so before that, amongst others. Sure you have to install the Epic Games launcher but that's easy and free and a no brainer to get access to free games, some of which are well worth having.

Cities Skylines as suggested above. Planet Coaster good fun. Football Manager (any of them)!

Enjoy.

Another vote for Crossout... also World of Tanks, in a similar vein. Both free to play.

Have you played the Mass effect and Dragon Age games?
All of them are very good, at least, although there are the inevitable disagreements about which is "best" wink
Oh, and The Witcher series, although I'm not quite so keen myself.
Most/all of the above available very cheaply, should see you through a few months' lockdownsmile

Got Skylines & recently got the witcher, Metro & skyrim (again) for the switch.

Kerbal space program may be on the cards, spent many an hour watching videos of it!

One I've just finished and may have slipped below the radar - Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. It is an unashamed update of Wing commander Privateer and a fun 3D space shoot'em up (not a space sim like Elite Dangerous - more Space Opera) .
Downside it is only on Epic at the moment but I picked it up for a little over £10 during the Xmas sale.

Ooooh, colour me interested... do you need a joystick?
Many happy hours spent playing WC back in the day, along with all the Star Wars flight games... ...no idea what happened to my Sidewinder Pro; as I type that I vaguely remember they stopped supporting it and it wound up in the bin???
