New member - brief car history and introduction
Discussion
Hi all,
Been on here for some time and think i even had an account in my teens so thought it best to reintroduce myself. I'm now at the heady heights on my mid 30's approaching my 40's rapidly. I've gone from a teen in the 'max power' days obsessed with big body kits and massive stereos worth more than the car to someone who still appreciates modified / tuned cars but now prefers something with more comfort.
My car history -
Vauxhall Nova 1.3SR - (sorry no pictures), was flame red and standard apart from a kenwood stereo and upgraded speakers. Run it for a couple of years after passing my test. Cost £1600
Citreon Saxo 1.6vtr - (sorry no pictures again), was black but nowhere near standard. Had a bodykit fitted, lowered 40mm, 17inch alloy wheels, stupid loud exhaust and huge stereo with subs in the boot. Cost £5500 and the spent another £5000 on the modifications.
Toyota Celica Tsport 190 - Lowered on genuine Toyota Celica GT springs and upgraded 18 inch alloys. Lovely car, and great fun to drive but met the Mrs after owning for around a year and needed 'something we could go on holiday in'. Cost £12000

Seat Leon Cupra R - This has to be my fav car i've owned and would love to own another. Remapped to 270bhp by AMD essex, upgraded and front Audi S3 strutt brace fitted. Was quick, comfy and big enough for everything i needed it for. cost £8000

Audi A4 Sline 2.0tdi - moved jobs and need something more eco for my long commutes. Had it remapped to 180bhp and AMD essex and lowered on eibach shocks and springs. I covered over 100,000 miles in this car and would regularly see over 55mpg. I manged to get 725 miles out of a single tank on my weekly commute. Cost £10000

BMW 320 tourer - we got a dog and needed a bigger car. This was ideal, comfy buy quick enough to have a little fun. All i did was refurb the wheels.
Cost £12000

Mercedes Benz C220 estate - got a little fed up for the BMW, was just getting a little to hard work for me and not as comfy on longer journeys as i wanted. So changed to the mercedes, IMO a much better car then it get credit for. Cam fully loaded as AMGline trim and had everything on it apart from heated seats. Was plenty quick enough for what i needed, as an auto with paddle shift (lots of fun).
Owen this until we had a baby and needed something bigger so we didn't been the roof box on every time we wanted to take the dog with us. Completely standard, although did cost a fortune when a few things went wrong. Cost £13000

VW Touareg 3.0 v6 TDI - this is latest 'family car' in the fleet. Quick enough for when i want to get a shift on, but very comfy on long journey's with the family, and big enough to get all of us and the dog in without needed the roof box on all the time. Cost £19000

After a short stint as a driving instructor I had a Mini Cooper S r56 to get me to and from work. It cost me a bundle to try and fix and still wouldn't run properly, so sold it after 5months of trouble ownership. Cost £2500
Ford Mondeo 2.0 tdi - The new workhorse to get me to and from work. Bought this as a stop gap after the mini kept breaking down, good milage and price etc, got it checked by the AA before buying and the guy said 'i'd be stupid not to buy'. Has full ford dealer history from new and 2 owners, first for ford and the 2nd for an old guy who covered next to no miles. I hate it, but its reliable and costs me nothing to keep it running so reluctantly keeping it, for now. Cost £4500

Thanks for reading guys. Looking forward to contributing on the forum going forwards.
