That's very sad, and condolences to all the Rutter family. A brilliant, versatile racer, whom passed on his skills to son MIchael whom continues to do the family name proud !

Very sad news, my mate just had his Panigale painted as a Tony Rutter tribute for trackdays ... RIP Tony ...

I had several practice days at Brands Hatch and Snetterton when Tony was out there. I remember Tony one time at Brands being on a virtually standard GS1000 and handing almost everyone their ass on a plate, even some on pure race bikes. Fast rider and thoroughly nice man.
He and Rocket Ron Haslam saved me well over a second a lap at Brands merely with their knowledge and tactical skills and thus advice they gave me. They were the reason i went for it and got a TZ350, the first of the water-cooled bikes. Still probably my favourite bike i've had, in many ways. Tony will be missed.

I remember seeing a tv programme years ago, think it was called Suzy and The Duke and was about his preperations for the TT one year.
The Suzy part refers to his GSXR 750 Superbike( I might be a bit off on it being a Superbike here ) and The Duke part is fairly self explanatory.

Hell of a rider and a legend in his own lifetime.

Met him in 85 at Motorcycle Mart in Kidderminster when they were launching the GSXR 750. Good bloke and a great rider. RIP
