The 412 Avant is one of my favourite VWs. I never owned one but Arnie Levics built a rather quick one that I borrowed from time to time, a great car.

I have a strange fascination for the Type 4 (and Type 3 too). Very tempted to add that new book to my ever-increasing "to read" pile.

Very rare in the UK now of course, especially in fastback form.

I have 4 or 5 engines including the holy grail, a 2 litre 912E. Enough parts to put together 2 good 2 litre engines - the 912E with a set of fancy barrels (steel with alloy fins) and another using Scat steel crank and rods plus a set of german Epower heads with which I plan to fit Porsche 100mm barrels and pistons.
It's a long time project for installation with a 905 gearbox into my G15. Should be fun, as the Imp engine at its' best only gave me 100bhp.
