Hi all,
I'm about to start work on engine & gearbox removal of a V6 but would like to make life as easy as possible. My plan is to drop the engine onto a heavy duty dolly so I can pull it from under without struggling. I already have a crane but lifting from the top isn't possible.
Does anyone have any recommendations? The ones I've had a look at don't look strong enough even though they are rated at 600kg+
Thanks

Toolstation do a dolly with four castors on it and a MDF base for about £12. 3" castors, rated at 200kg and 5 year guarantee. Made in Wednesbury.
When we move 300/ 400kg forecourt jet washes about we put two of these underneath the base and they glide about with just finger pressure. When I'm moving a V8 about I put another board across two dollies and its simplicity itself to move it around the garage.
Cheers,
Tony

Some very good suggestions. Today I pulled out the mower from the shed and noticed I had some very solid pieces of loft boarding I'd cut them down so have 4. If one isn't strong enough I could throw another on top etc. Orders some 800kg rated castors from eBay for £13 (maybe over kill).
