So obviously strange times now but I would be really interested in other’s thoughts on this.

My exercise for today was to walk with my daughter to the village shops for the first time in a few days, obviously nearly all shops are closed no people around which is good for everyone to keep the space. The Italian deli was open selling bread and pasta that we have been struggling to get last week so I went in and bought some, plus ricotta. Am I mental for buying things in an Italian deli when Italy is spreading the virus?! We like pasta and it was starting to worry me they won’t survive because it’s a bit of a risk buying anything coming from Italy. I love the country and the people there and want to still buy food I like from them, the sun dried tomato paste is amazing.

Rant over, interested in any opinions thanks

I would think most foodstuffs were prepared with adequate precautions as a matter of routine, but even if not 3 hrs at 38000 ft would probably kill it off quite effectively.

Bread, fresh pasta etc probably prepared on site here to mama's favourite recipe.

Goid on you for supporting the local deli.

Many thanks for the reassurance, we will hopefully go to get supplies from them once a week. It’s a lovely walk and the food they sell is excellent. Very small shop though so can see them possibly needing only one family at a time.

The packaged food has probably been untouched by human hand until your Deli owner opened the box and put it on the shelf
