Good morning all, this superb weather means its time for a new bike

And as a lot of people may be home, here is a good place to get advice

I enjoy the xc as much as freeride/enduro type trails

Looking for Full Suspension (first look into full sus in 30 years, currently riding a WHYTE 905)

my spec requirements:

Carbon frame
27.5" wheels
SRAM Groupset
around 150mm front travel
Around £3000 (but might increase for the best bike)
Love a ticking hub wink

Currently looked at FELT Decree 1, but open to any suggestions and reasons not to go for the FELT

look forward to your feedback

Set a budget and frame size on pink bike buy/sell.

You'll get a 18/24 month old 6k+ superbike with that budget.

I saved 4k off a two year old Evil, which was mint and barely ridden. It came with every shiny carbon bauble.

I take it its the one on crc.
I wouldn’t. The geometry numbers look outdated. It might still be a good bike, but for me I’d want something with up to date geometry.
Its an old frame with bling parts.

Id look at the aluminium framed nukeproof reactor. A good frame with workable parts that justify an upgrade later on. Switch from gash sram to shimano slx for best value.

Or buy my trek remedy.

I heard this can you explain why,

I could understand if I rode every bike each year and could then make an assessment, but as this would be new to me so would the geometry

Not carbon but what about the Bird Aeris 145? Custom build so you can spec what you want to suit your budget. They use hope hubs as standard so you get a nice ticking hub. for your £3k you could upgrade the forks and shock nicely too.

Utter bargain.

Do this and get your LBS to build you a custom bike to your spec. 3k will build an absolute cracker with that frame.

Intense banger!
£600 under budget and you not going to get a better handling bike.

I’m not trying to hijack, but does anyone have any experience of a Calibre Sentry? I reserved one before the shops all shut, but I should be paying £1350 for it when I collect it, instead of the £1700 they have been going for until recently.

It’s a bit heavy and not the prettiest thing, but seems really well reviewed. Other ideas were a Canyon Spectral or a YT Jeffsy, but they’re a good £1k extra.

Might that also fit the OP’s requirements?

Its not really what yuor after - its a bargain and well reviewed yes, but its a big bruiser bargain of a bike. I wouldnt want to ride one far.
