Hi folks, I have just ordered a new power washer from Nilfisk and plan to eventually get the cars sorted. They are growing ever dirtier whilst I recover from a broken collarbone.

Firstly can anyone recommend a good snow foam Lance? Not crazy money but I want something decent that will last and is adjustable.

My method will be degrease and snowfoam using Bilt Hammer surface degreaser and Bilt hammer Snowfoam.
Rinse
2 bucket wash with Bilt Hammer shampoo.
Rinse
Tar and fallout removal again using Bilt hammer korrosol (on wheels as well)
Rinse and Dry
Coat of Poor Boys Black hole polish/glaze.

Then I need something to finish? Looking for something that is not crazy expensive, easy to apply and buff off, lasts well, extremely shiny and beads the water off as who doesn't love water beading?

Any thoughts on such a product? And what snow foam Lance?

I was looking at Poor Boys wheel sealant? Is this the best out there? Some people say just use any wax? Thoughts?

Also if anyone has any other suggestions to swap out the BH stuff for better options let me know, I have only heard good stuff about BH and the prices look good so thought I would give it a go.

What is your go to online retailer?

Thanks in advance

Firstly, best wishes for your recovery.

I've always had excellent service from these guys: https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk

They have foam lances, but not right now, it would appear. Bilt Hamber snow foam always gets good reviews, but I've never used it personally. I'm having a Gyeon phase, and use their foam, Bathe+ shampoo and Quick Detailer - the bodywork always beads really well, showing good hydrophobicity (that's actually a word!), and dirt washes off easily.

For wheels, I'd recommend GTechniq C5. I've used Poorboys wheel wax, but you need to keep reapplying it, whereas the GTechniq lasts for three or four months.

It's a rabbit hole, and you'll soon find yourself looking at microfibre cloths with names like "chinchilla", and buying them to rub softly and lasciviously across the glistening curves of.............

I've said enough.

Many thanks for your reply, the Gyeon stuff looks good, I had been hearing good things about P&S bead maker but the Gyeon wet coat looks like it may do the same job.
Definitely going to use poor boys polish so it's just that final protective stage I am not sure about.
I had been looking at Chemical Guys Instawax, Dodo Juice supernatural, Bilt Hammer double speed wax and Turtle Wax Sealant Hydrophobic.
Not sure if these are the final step or would you throw Gyeon Wet Coat or P&S bead maker on after a wax? Or would they replace the wax?

If you like the BH range, try their double speed wax. Never used it myself, but everyone I've spoke to who has absolutely raves about it.

Carpro Reload I find is a good spray sealant, excellent gloss and beading

Thanks for that, I had just put it in my above post as you were replying. At what point in the wash stage do you use the Carpro Reload?

After the black hole, as the final stage. I've sprayed it over a previously waxed surface before, it doesn't seem to matter what you spray it on top of in my experience, unlike other sealants

Perfect, after polishing buffing the Black Hole off I will be knackered so if the past stage is easy that is definitely a bonus, good hydrophobic effect is what I am going for.
Thanks for the tips so far chaps

Don't bother with the snow foam;)
Autoglym's super resin polish after washing and decon and either Bilt Hamber Finis wax or Gyeon Wetcoat (or both) for protection and beading.

Cheers,

Chris

In2detailing do a good quality lance its really good value too, comes with what ever fitting you require, I would also recommend a Dr Dirt Foam bottle to go with it as its a cone shaped bottle that doesn't top over but it looks like they are out of stock on those
https://www.in2detailing.co.uk/products/wash/foam-...

The BH AutoFoam is great stuff and works very well if used correctly 4%PIR for heavy soiling or 2% for light soiling.
BH wax works best if applied direct to clean paint, so before you apply the wax use some good panel Prep to fully remove any old residue from the decon stage.

Carpro Eraser, Gyeon Prep, BH Cleanser Fluid etc

I see what you guys mean about it being a rabbit hole of expense. Been browsing online and added a few items to the basket, a modest order I was thinking, then I noticed it totalled £180 smile

I'm just about to strip all the winter protection off mine and try a ceramic coating, luckily I ordered (and had delivered) some Avalon King Armor Shield before we went into lockdown, the car is going to get a full clean and correction then the ceramic, I'm not intending to throw any buckets of dirty water over it after it's done !, hopefully it will make cleaning it easier and add a layer of shine.
