So back in late January, somewhat out of the blue I ended up ordering an M2 Competition due to having access to a deal that was too good to turn down.

I had no need for a new car, nor really any room for it but of course, I ordered it anyway.

Original build was due for April with a May delivery but this began getting pushed further and further back due to the virus situation and suddenly it was looking like August at best. I wasn’t sure I could wait this long and ended up taking a car that had already landed in the UK albeit with a few extra options than I wanted but it meant I could have it within days.

So last Thursday it arrived and I managed to put a couple of hundred miles on it before lockdown and since the weekend it has just sat on the drive. Maybe I could have waited after all although, at least this will make the food shopping trips a bit more of an occasion in the meantime smile

Really pleased with it so far. I went for Hockenheim Silver, DCT, M2 plus pack and the comfort pack in the end so it has most options you’d want.
The colour is incredible, pictures really don’t do it justice.

Lovely car. I almost ordered one myself when Stratstone were offering some pretty great deals but at the time the deposit was a little over what I was comfortable with and the monthlies were a little over what I could budget so sensibly opted for a non M (540i xDrive) instead. My car is more what I need but I can't help but feel I should have pushed myself and gopt the less practical but more fun M2 comp.

Enjoy it when you can use it more!

Looks Good.

I had an OG M2 from new (March 2017) until about four weeks ago. They're great cars for the money, hope you got a good deal.

In certain light it does look white in fairness.

Foxall, How do you find the DCT?

I have an m135 (ZF8) and have been looking at the M2C for some time - but keep hankering for the manual version.

Thoughts would be welcomed, appreciate you've only done a few hundred miles, though.

I used to have an m135 myself and it was manual but I’d always wished I had gone auto smile

As for the DCT, it’s difficult to really give any real thoughts on it so far but in comparison to our auto merc it’s very different. I find that in its ‘softest’ setting it is smoother than the merc and yet when you change the setting it’s a different animal, so quick through the gear changes and when using the paddles the reaction time is instant of course with this it certainly isn’t smooth!

Finally got round to taking some better pictures of it.
It’s also now had its running in service and all is well!
