Hi All,

Long time Pistonheader mainly on the TVR forums, but have now moved to an AMV

Sold Tuscan a couple of weeks ago and was extremely sad to see it go. What a car it has been and a joy to own. The rawness and shear sense of theater of it is very adictive a will be truly missed. However due to building a house on where my garage was and the fact that it was begining to scare me (as i got older) i decided the time was right to let her go...

So out with the old and in with the new.

This was an unplanned purchase as the money from the TVR was due to go on the new house and child, however after having a minor operation and 2 weeks bed recovery, i did what any man would do and started googling videos and cars....... videos of cars... i then realised i still had that Aston scratch that needed itching and so here we are today.

Car is a 2013 V8 Vantage with 14k and a full AM history. whilst looking i considered whether to buy from a dealer or not, even though there is a premium to pay, and i have to say AM Nottingham were second to none. The pre-prep this car went through was unreal, i have never seen attention to detail like it, obviously at a premium, but i was very happy. Jake in sales was great, both friendly and professional as were all the staff.

So i hope you guys are as welcoming as the TVR pages, and early signs are good. Other than getting told off that i had not posted the obligatory welcoming post and pics. So here i am..

Cheers all, stay safe and hopefully we will all see the other side of this

Only joking Milky. The rule on here is 'If you have no photo, then it didn't happen'. I agree, once you get the Aston itch, then it just HAS to be scratched.

Welcome Hunters.

What a beauty. Sure you will enjoy your new car.

Quite a few TVR owners have moved to Aston Martin. Both big engine British sports cars of course.

Expect you might be driving soon (on essential trips).
Under the present circumstances, my own Vantage is having the winter hibernation extended.

If I were to compare the drive of my Vantage with any of my former cars it would be my TVRs. Grunty V8 in the front, rear wheel drive, sounds great and no S/C or Turbos, just a long travel accelerator pedal. Not the sharpest of handling cars or the quickest, but predictable when things get a bit out of shape and enough to have fun even without being a (sideways) driving god. Also a bit lazy unless you grab it by the scruff of the neck.

So if the garage has gone does the V have to shiver outside?

Although that could be a good thing. It's too easy to leave the garaged car and jump in another. But if it's already outside....

Very nice! And shiny... welcome!

Mine usually lives outside, great to hop in and go but it will be re-hibernated and SORNED after a mercy run to deliver groceries to my Ma tomorrow, and as a birthday treat!

Any yes, we are very much socially distancing...

Looking good and like many on here - I previously had a couple of TVRs

I bet the RR will be easier to keep clean.

Thanks for the comments guys, there seems to be lots of ex TVR/Lotus. Is it an age thing? Getting in and out of the Tuscan was never easy but had started to get worse, although the Aston?!?!?

Self isolating and working from home today so booked a video conference with the velar as she was looking a little dirty.

Im afraid so, however the Vantage will be likely be used until the salt comes in the road, she will then likely go into storage for 2-3 months.

It’s great being able to just jump in her.

That does look a good combination. My combo is a DB11 and an Audi A6 Avant, although my favourite would be my DB11 and erm .... another Aston.

Thanks both, i love the Velar, got a lot of stick initially and rightfully so as my first one (that was rejected after 2 years) was plagued with electrical gremlins. this one though has been almost faultless.

As for the combo, i think you're right, it a great mix. the Velar is extremely comfortable and is also no slouch with its divine 300hp V6 diesel engine....

Congrats on the new wheels, doesn`t it look petite next to the Velar! I love a Land/Range Rover, the brand pick of the SUV world for me. Similar to Octavarium I have an Audi A6 Allroad and alongside the V8V it`s a pretty complete package of fun and practicality.
