My proposal for whiling away the Lockdown Hours:
If you're unfamiliar, on Radio4, this is a panel show, fronted by David Mitchell (credit to Dr Graeme Garden), in which panellists have to give a short lecture on a given subject, and they have to smuggle five lies through the lecture.
Points are scored for every lie which goes unnoticed. Other panellists can score points if they identify a lie, or lose points if they mistake a truth for a lie.
I don't propose 'lectures', just single 'facts' based upon sigbject that I shall choose. So here goes:
Rules:
1. You may only use Google, or another search method if you are checking a fact (or a lie) you intend to post. You MAY NOT use any external method before deciding whether or not to challenge the previous fact.
2. Each post must consist ONLY of a statement (true or otherwise), or of a challenge to a previous statement. If your statement id challenged you must be honest about its veracity.
3. I shall keep score, and I shall decide when each round is over, at which point I'll publish scores and schose a new subject.
I will endeavour to choose subjects about which most people don't have in-depth knowledge.
