South Korea who have got the best grip on CV (IMHO) legislated a few years ago to cover this sort of thing. This in the light of SARS/MERS.
IIRC it allows, in very specific circumstances only and only selected groups, access to and exchange such data.
They have made a call that privacy is less important in epidemic times than saving lives.
It is best practice to quickly trace potential contacts and areas of infection. Now down to 10minutes!
Location data is made available on a smartphone app. to the general public.
I don't know how anonymised the data is.
I've put links on the science thread to some more stuff on this. Some information from a chap living there.

and South Korea will probably have only a fraction of the economic damage we will from this. Choices and trade offs. IIRC it allows, in very specific circumstances only and only selected groups, access to and exchange such data.

Frankly if we are all tracked anyway, if legislation like this means we don't have to go through another situation like this then I'm all for it.

I saw a piece of how quickly South Korea dealt with it through data.

If you want to be tracked then go for it. Some of us want to mind our own business without being snooped upon.Frankly if we are all tracked anyway, if legislation like this means we don't have to go through another situation like this then I'm all for it.
