Dinkel just posted something on another thread about not needing a watch because he can keep time to about fifteen minutes without one anyway. Impressive!

So what 'knacks' or special abilities do PH'ers have?

I can measure stuff up without a tape to within 25mm by eye, such as a house full of windows and doors, its accurate enough for pricing anyway. Of course I will check stuff with the tape just to confirm my sense of infallibility :D

I can usually tell someone lots of things about a car from a single glance, including value.

I can do that too, due to a lifetime of working outside I reckon.

I am pretty good at valuing stuff - and getting a bargain.

A couple of recent ones:

A Piano Accordion from a Car Boot sale for £30 - sold for £350.

A Longines watch for £300, sold for £1450

A mixing desk for £20, sold for £970.

I just do it for fun - got the knack from my dear old dad.

I have the unenviable ability to repel money in any shape or form. No matter what my income over any measurable period, fate steps in to ensure that the value of goods needing replacing, fixing or paying for in that same period exceeds income by at least a token amount...

Because of my job, buying and selling companies, I've learned how tell when the other side is liying - or bluffing. In the main we get it right. Interestingly, If l tell friends that I can read body-language, etc, they become very uncomfortable.

Actually I thought of another one I do - a bit like Srebbe - I can cold read people pretty well - telling them very detailed things about them they have never told me.

I used to do this as a party trick (but it was damn good for getting the chicks when I was a student... )

I'm not sure if I'm going mental or not, but I appear to be able to make streetlights fail. I have noticed it over 30 times I would say since I was 18, that on occasion when near a street light it will fail.

Now street lights don't tend to fail that regularly, so it seems to be more than just a coincidence, but then again I am probably just a bit dog's trousers.

My 'Gaydar' is over 90% accurate

For some reason my wrists are flexible enough to be able to bend my thumb back (on each hand) to touch the wrist on the same arm.
