n/s door wing mirror when pressed you can hear a click in/around the dashboard area. However, the door solenoid doesn't fire so door doesn't open.

Is the solenoid done in, wonder if it can be bench tested.

They do wear out.
The solenoid is in the body, level with the door catch and just behind the door frame.
Access is via a flap in the car wall carpet.

There are two solenoids in there, one for the door opening and one for the central locking, and I cannot remember which is which, but you can work it out once you are in there.

I guess you can then apply 12 volts to the wires and see what happens.

Before you start taking things apart, try spraying liberally with silicon spray. Worked for me!

Can i ask a related question?

Are the solenoids adjustable for position, as I've noticed if I lean down on the closed pass' door, then release, I can hear clicking in the area where they live? Don't seem to cause anything not to work but thought I'd ask.

Cheers

Turned out a bullet connector had disconnected at the solenoid wiring. Now working as before.

The easiest fix in my Tvr history

Thanks for all suggestions however.

Relay may be clicking because the coil side is working, but that doesn't mean the 30-87 contact is.

Have you never tapped on a light lens to fix a bulb out? Real quick fix
