This would have sounded odd a week ago but the ability to just... go out.

Go to the shop to pick some bits up, go and see my Dad. Just go out. It's strange, I would usually like to be confined to the house but this feels strange.

Just being able to walk into Tesco without having to queue round the car park for half an hour first would be nice.

Miss hugs. frown

Have been single for 12 years now and am quite a tactile person. Usually shake hands with 20+ people a day but haven't now for several weeks, though I'm still working, that almost makes it worse as I'm still meeting people but no contact with them. Quite often get a hug off people I've not seen for a while, none of that either. Have considered trying out OLD in the hope that I find someone else that's prepared to take the risk of meeting up, just for a bit of closeness.

Feel a bit lonely now tbh. frown

I can understand that mate, I'm not someone who likes contact with others and am quite introverted actually but I'm missing giving someone a good solid hand shake. Also missing seeing my small group of mates. It's tough love between us, lots of brutal piss taking but I'm missing having that opportunity to get stuff of my chest. Still talk online but its not the same.

I swear to God that I’m neither gloating, nor embellishing the truth, but last Monday, April 20, on the way back from taking my wife’s car to be serviced, I went to Tesco, Surrey Quays SE16, walked in, bought my wife a bottle of Baileys and a dozen roses, and walked back out, maybe 10-12 minutes.
No, it wasn’t a special occasion, I’d be cattle trucked without her, and I wanted to show her that I knew it.

I miss seeing my son. Nothing else, I don't like people and I was born for this.

Meetings. Normally I hate meetings but I miss the ability to hold a conversation with colleagues face to face rather than on the phone.

What’s stopping you doing that?

I switched jobs a few months back and meetings are one thing I don't miss.

We tend to do our meetings over zoom, even if we're all in the office. This tends to cut them down as the Karen's of the world who draw out meetings to detestable lengths really hate not being face to face.

If a meeting takes half an hour in person, it can be done in 15 mins on zoom.

I think losing the ability to talk over others is what causes it. Plus the slight lag makes people stop and think about what has been said/going to be said. It's much harder to be a vapid windbag when everyone is paying attention.

I do miss talking bks with coworkers though, you can get away with a lot less over Skype/Teams/Slack.

The mundane thing I miss is sleep... For some reason my insomnia had kicked into overdrive lately.
