Hi guys, I have been considering a Turbo S 991.2 ever since I sold my old 997.2 Turbo S a year ago, a car of which I absolutely loved!

What are the thoughts on the 991.2 Turbo S? What else is worth considering? 4 seats are a must have as I have small children.

Amazingly competent car. Handles anything rain or shine and obviously performance to beat just about anything. Looks super mean too.

However, I found the ride a bit floaty; it didn’t have the connection of some other models. Great for a more everyday car but lacked something from a driving perspective. I found the 992 Carrera had 85% of the performance but with a more sporty chassis feel.

Like I have said on a few threads, I agree with the posts above, non Gt porkers are floaty.

I cannot stand them, none are drivers cars.

Depends what you want, on PH in the Porsche section it's not really a driver focused forum.

So a turbo S would be the perfect car if you want a very fast premium brand car to drive about in.

4 seats becomes an issue, but is the turbo S a 4 seater really ?

I’ve noticed prices on the 991.2 turbos seem to be pretty strong at the moment too. Not sure why. Whilst there are deals to be done on 992 Carreras.

One other thing to add: if you are willing tk lightly modify I think the handling of a Turbo could be drastically changed if you wanted to. Different springs, DSC pasm box etc easily done.

I've compared 991.2 turbo s and 992 C4S over a few weeks back to back my pick would be the turbo s although its only a few things that put me off 992.

As a dark horse maybe have look at a Litchfield GTR LM20 or track pack. Image F&F but I like them v.special. Different league like Porsche and more GT are DB11, FF, Bentley CGT, F Lusso. I'd try them all. 991 is crazy when you're on it. You'd be thrown straight in jail! If you have kids and they're getting older maybe M5, RS6 or E63? Or a Cayenne turbo s coupe or Lambo Urus which can all do the turbo s thing four adults up. Having said if you loved 997 you will love 991 even more wink

I'm in same position, happy with non 's' version .. can't see any obvious deals on 992's, even 2019 ones seems to be almost list may 10% off for heavily optioned. Not sure who is buying at those prices. quite like Miami blue would that be a resale issue ?

Any blue looks v.nice. Gulf Blue which I think is similar to Miami Blue always gets friendly compliments. Sapphire blue lovely too.

Gulf Blue is nothing like Miami Blue - although I guess we all see colours differently.

Amazed anyone is thinking of buying an expensive new car in the current rapidly changing and uncertain climate eek
But it’s not my money, so it’s not my business.

Here you go, I’ve tried to make it as representative as possible......

Yes darker than Gulf but still nice. 991.2 GT3 RS at JZM looks magnificent in this hue I can't see why it would not be good for resale.

You'd never have thought they were the same colour !!! Shows what light and cameras can do.

Or I could go GTS but I really want more of a cruiser ... is the GTS harsh .. I had a Cayman 981 GTS and didn't get on with it.

They all look different depending on light. The modern Gulf Blue on 991 and 992 is a few shades darker than the original Gulf on 917 if you see them both side by side. They're different colour codes.

That doesn’t look anything like Miami Blue....OPC’s photographs are so bad at representing colours in so many cases. No idea if it is a constraint of the Porsche website but they need to sort it out !

This is the nicest GTS for sale but an even brighter colour and manual with buckets. Its probably the pick of the OPC classifieds for me and a simple flash away from 600bhp Litchfield / 9e. Same with the T wink

That's a great colour, for me I need more of a comfort spec one (I know it's a contradiction) .. also that green one has had 3 owners. Is the turbo "softer" than a GTS ?

Comfort wise they'd be very similar. Go for a spin and decide when things back to normal. If maybe wanting a manual I'd go for something like that GTS and yes being 2wd it will defo be a bit more precise, lighter and sharper. If PDK turbo S as its a crazy bit of kit. All it lacks is a sports exhaust and Europipe 50cel Sports exhaust for circa £3500 an you're done needs nothing else. Transformational in terms of sound and emotion. Its flipping quick too and very easy to live with and drive. Best real world sports GT out there for me even now if you intend to do alot of miles.

I think this is a better rep of Miami - looks much darker in shadow - it’s basically an aqua blue - I really like it on the right car - needs black accents smile
