I fancy some black wheels for my 111s 2005 but they seem in short supply and very costly, have any members tried powder coating specialists I have found a company in Birmingham that do an excellent job for less than £200, or any other ideas.

looked into this a while ago, despite not actually owning an elise yet. some owners on here said they asked Lotus and were told the high heat involved in the powder coating process weakens the wheels beyond their safe limits. cant confirm this myself but it may be worth asking...

Have a look at www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk/ - gives you an idea of the services available.. Brian (the proprietor) seems to be pretty good at responding to email enquiries if you're unsure of anything.

Wheels are off waiting to go for refurb and colour change, i will post pictures when there done. If they collapse when i put them on the car because of the heat treatment i will warn other members, cant see it the car only weighs the same as a pram.
