A little sound advice required, literally.

Having problems with the sound on my Mesh pc with Sound Blaster x fi extreme audio card. If I play a YouTube clip on Internet Explorer, the audio is fine, however if I try to do the same in Chrome, I only get the low frequencies through the sub, no high frequencies; The same thing happens when I tried to run Project cars 2. I've enabled Chrome in the mixer panel, bottom right of screen and it does show the audio playing but the HF stuff is missing. Any ideas? Support for my version of IE runs out soon so I'd like to get it sorted.
