Porsche 981 Rattle Sound

Hi Guys,
I seem to have a rattle noise between 900 and say 1200 rpm. The Porsche sports exhaust is not engaged.

Check the butterfly valve actuator; they do have a tendency to resonate when they get a bit tight (corroded or partially seized spindle)/bit loose (the spindle can jingle til it's at operating temp).
Sometimes the actuator vacuum system can leak; leading to a partial activation and subsequent resonance as the revs are brought up. If possible put the phone on the ground under the valve area and video the situation as you bring the revs up. Or watch underneath while someone revs it for you.

Could that be the actuator rod come adrift? Would also explain why your PSE doesn't work. Are they both just dangling and rattling about? Should add that it looks like these have been snapped off by someone trying to free the seized valves.
When I bought my 981 two years ago at 26K miles, one of the valves was seized but fortunately I managed to free it off. I regularly check they are not seized by manually operating them with the engine off. I'd recommend all 981 owners should do this regularly as the replacement bill is pretty hefty.

+1 to the last post; someone knows what they have done there - no way in the world the vacuum actuators would have snapped off in 'normal use' even when the butterfly valves seize solid the actuators just aren't strong enough to tear the things apart like that.

Thanks for everyone’s help - update, I’ve had a call from the Head of Business at Sytner Oldbury and he said he will get this sorted as close to Liverpool as possible once this crisis is over. Looks like it will be a PSE replacement hey... do you know if my car is still okay to drive? I still need to make it out to the shops for food and beer!
