Has anyone tried to do this yet? I haven't used my ticket for over 2 weeks, and won't be using it for the foreseeable so may as well get it refunded but everywhere I have searched says you need to go back to the place of purchase [ie the train station] to get the refund - as its not an essential journey I thought this could be done online...?

For reference, my journey is Sandhurst > Guildford Annual Gold Card Season Ticket

I applied for mine on Friday, however the ticket is supplied through Abellio corporate travel as its bought on a Season Ticket Loan so I could do it online.

You need to cash it in as soon as possible as they will not backdate it. I believe you may not have to pay the £10 admin charge. Abellio where still deducting it on our online system.

Well they dont know you havent used it! Of course there can be an issue if your local station isnt staffed.

Mine's Thameslink/Great Northern. Refunded my annual season ticket over a week ago from my smart card, still waiting for it to clear through PayPal.

Incidentally I have just read a comment elsewhere that SWR ticket offices might be shut. I think you need to do the o line form then wait ti hear from them - I am assuming you are on SWR.

I used to work at a train station. There was no way we could see when it was last used so it is from when you apply for the refund unfortunately.

I got my refunded requested eventually last week with the refund due to take a few weeks due to high demand; had a nice chat to the guy in the office who hadn't seen a soul for 90 minutes and I was only the 2nd soul he'd seen since his shift started at 6.00am that day..

He did ask when the last time I used the ticket, and he did backdate it to then, so all was good on that score smile
