I have recently bought a DBSS (managed 500 great miles pre lock down) and am now looking to cover it and leave it for this period of lock down ... a couple of questions;

- I have the best AM outdoor cover and it lives in the drive ... having washed, dried etc at the weekend I have now covered and don’t intend using for the next 3 weeks (maybe longer) - is there anything I need to do re battery or routine whilst under cover ? If not, how long until I do ?

- not related but the last time I drive it I had a coolant level low warning - what coolant do I need and how do I refill ... need to find the manual !!

Thanks & keep safe

Put it on a trickle charger and it will be fine.

As for the manual, take a look at the AM official app on Android & iOS, you will have the possibility to download it in PDF to your phone. wink

If you have a warranty on this I would be flagging it in writing to the dealer that there is a warning on - I have NEVER had to fill the coolant on mine, at least by logging it - even if you refill it, and it drops again, if it proves to be something serious, at least you can show it was logged pre lockdown in case its still sat outside under a cover in 4 months time.

Any recommendations on a trickle charger ... ideally that just connects directly to the charging port

I use CTEK MXS 5.0 and find it to be reliable and keeps the battery maintained and topped up.

Coolant warning could be a faulty sensor, had this on my dbss only a few weeks back. Replaced under warranty...

A second vote for the MXS 5.0. I've used one for years now and never missed a beat.

By the way, I appreciate where you're coming from, but I'd hope you could leave a new DBSS for more than 3 weeks without needing to charge it wink

Anyway, pics please or you sir are a purveyor of false truths rofl

CTEK works well although I just looked at getting a second one for my wife’s car and amazon are classing them as non essential goods with a 1 month lead time.

Worth checking the coolant level on the flat. My DB11 was fine the first year but after the first service started showing a coolant level warning on my drive but not anywhere else. Realised the level was a fraction low and the slope on the drive was triggering the sensor. I bought a bottle of coolant from my MD and added a thimble full to the car and the warming disappeared.

Good point on the level ... I had thought about that as we live on a slight incline ... I even turned the car around to see if made any difference ... it didn’t but obviously still on a slope ... it goes off within 1min of driving.

The guidance from the Dealer is it should be fine for 3 months - trickle charge will give extra peace of mind !

Will try and get some pictures up assuming it is easy enough !

Do AMs have some sort of disc near rear number plate that allows a trickle charger to attach with the need to run cables to battery?
