Flowchart at out place.
1 - can work at home - get 100% pay.
2 - can't work at home - will be going furlough 1at April and getting 80% of pay or whatever gubberment scheme is from April 1st.
3 - off as a parent to look after children - unpaid parental leave (as if your child was off school with measles, schools shut due to strikes etc etc). HR will be monitoring council websites to determine which schools are shut (erm, isn't it all? of them, hope my division HR boss isn't working or getting paid then - despite being active on Skype 15 minutes ago) to ensure employees comply with putting themselves in the correct category (categories 4 and 5 are to do with self isolating due to family / being dead). Seems to forget I had a two week holiday at April school hols booked, but all leave now cancelled.

As we get 24 weeks full sick pay in a 4 year period (not had any sick for three years gone by, did have 8 weeks in 2016 with hernia op) my colleges without kids have suggested I go on sick pay. I'm not sick and want to work but fall in category 3. Of course if off unpaid, that does mean no Skype, no e-mail, no answersing work mobile, giving up my £15 per night out of hours phone call allowance, etc etc and defog no "quick, drop the heater control to xx% before you blow the SRV phone calls?".

Morally I won't go sick, but I am feeling a bit throaty, don't know if it is this dry weather the last few days and one of my kids has a new cough this weekend. What to do. So confunkingfusing! Anyone else confused if they should do what the management say depending which way the wind blows. Oh, and we are not physically currently allowed in our facilities without a "letter from the gubberment" which our managers are trying to work out how to issue, but can't as they haven't been able to meet with each other. And I don't think our work is quite that important on this job.....

Union are on board in all cc'd.

Can you work from home if you wanted to? Are you a single parent? If not just say your wife/partner is looking after kids while you work.

Doesn't seem right to me hope you sort something out.

What does your partner do? can they not look after the children? You cant really expect work to pay you to sit at home and look after your children, otherwise, if they do it for you, they would have to do it for every other member of staff.

What would you do if you were still having to work for the office?
