Re-learning the piano
Discussion
From an early age, certainly before I was 10 I had piano lessons once a week every Saturday at a professional piano teachers house up to age 16. I passed several exams at the RNCM in Manchester, I think I got up to grade 8. I remember this involved writing music as well as playing it (used to be called theory).
The problem was it was all classical music with the exception of Christmas when I learned carols and I hated every minute of it, I'm ashamed to say absolutely nothing has sunk in, I couldn't even tell you where middle C is now, I sort of remember things like crotchets and quavers but don't really know what they are, if you put me in front of a piano with some music I would be as clueless as someone who has never touched a piano before.
Fast forward 30 years and I think it would be kind of cool to be able to play again and I'ver certainly got plenty of time to learn at the minute, was thinking of buying a keyboard and watching Yuotube.
So will I have a light bulb moment and it will all come back to me or are those dark memories from being a child locked away forever like an abused kid does.
