Pretending to eat out
Discussion
Now that we're all locked down, we decided to try an experiment. There are 5 of us: one person gets to decide on a restaurant with an online menu. We download it and then everyone picks what they would have. I'm the cook. First choice was the Canny Man's in Edinburgh. I produced SMØRREBRØD to order (sorry for shouting - CTRL C+V) and we had smoked salmon with prawns, curried egg and prawns and then chicken/bacon with cheesy potatoes (potato fell off):

Home made soda bread. There were 15 open sandwiches in all (SMØRREBRØD - sorry for shouting again). We're now going to work out which other restaurants have online menus we can pretend to order from.
Anyone want to join in?

Love the idea, but I'm going through the what we have in the freezer stage at the moment. By god it's a lot though
Don't feel bad about freezer diving! This is a great opportunity to give it a clear out.
I suspect we can hold out for a fair few weeks, though we will be going keto after a while as I have a lot of frozen meat compared with the veg stocks!
Great idea! As above though, bit faffy with specific ingredients.
I'm holed up at the family house with my mum and sis (have been here for 10 days now) and we've agreed on a cooking rota where each of us cooks every 3 days.
It's been really fun as in London I'm always so flat out that, though I love cooking, I just end up doing bulk cook on a Sunday afternoon and eat the same thing every week day, week-in, week-out (which is this with added veggies: https://www.daringgourmet.com/misir-wat-ethiopian-...
Nice to add a bit of variety!

Great idea, although having not left the house for 10 days and no home delivery slots at the supermarkets for the next 3 weeks, it would be a little bit more Littlechef menu from the freezer/tins than Sushi Samba
Same here and with little but the basics on the larder shelves the best I can conjour up is a Hairy Bikers' spaghetti bolognese. Exotic cuisine is but a distant dream for the time being.
