Given the sudden upsurge in usage of my current Samsung 32 inch HD TV I think its time for a new TV!

I bought a Samsung sound bar recently, really helps with the sound but thinking of going to a 43 inch TV - I don't want anything bigger, I don't want it dominating the room, but want something a bit bigger than I have at the moment so settled for around the 43 inch mark. Looking for 4k, has to have Prime, Netflix, Disney+ apps on it and ended up looking at a couple of TVs - have to admit only done a 20 minute or so search on Amazon so far. Budget is around the £300-£350 mark.

The Samsung I have at the moment is a 2016 and it has been pretty bang average straight off the bat, loads of disconnecting issues at first until a firmware update happened and now it pretty much runs at a snails pace (takes about 3-5 minutes when you turn it on for the menus to start popping up etc) which has put me off Samsung, but maybe I got a bit unlucky with the TV I bought? But reviews for Samsung says its a good piece of kit.

I have plenty of tech in the house, but TVs are something I have never really bothered with too much. Hence the probably very noob post!

Thanks mate, I am a complete novice when it comes to the tech in TVs have no idea what half the acronyms are on that link so might do a little investigation. I am looking at around 43 inch (the missus doesn't want anything bigger) and around £350 maximum (we dont watch enough TV to warrant a big layout)

If you can push that to £379, you’d be able to pick up the UE43RU7470 - you might find cash back available through various sites, Quidco etc, too. Worth a look!

Been eyeing that one up - I do have a Samsung sound bar I just bought, I am trying to work out how to make all this fit on the TV stand, the bar would obscure some of the screen for sure in its current position.

The Philips came up at that price for about a day over Christmas before going back to £429. I nearly went for it at the higher price, but apparently the smart options aren’t as good in terms of loadable apps - iPlayer etc. That is a genuinely good price though, £450-£500 pretty consistently since November.

I've got that TV(65" version) at the end of last year and I had to wait around 2 weeks for it to be delivered because it was sold out as well. The picture is really good in HD and Netflix looks good on it too.

Thanks mate, I am resisting the urge at the moment to just buy something else that is available.

Nope. She finds bigger TVs 'overbearing' - in our 40 foot lounge argue

It's alright to have a fecking great big bookcase in there stuffed full of books that she never bloody well touches let alone looks at. But a TV...not a chance.

Seems like I am back on the 43inch waiting list

I'm wondering if they will ever be available. Almost tempted to just bite the bullet and go for one of these. Big discount at the moment and has a lot of good specs https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertai...

That is a nice looking TV as well from looking at the photos. Good value too.

I had to buy a new kitchen (council) TV a couple of weeks back as the existing one decided it no longer wanted to come out of standby. We've been happy with LG sets in other rooms so bought one of these: https://www.johnlewis.com/lg-43um7400plb-2019-led-...

I wanted the smallest 4k TV I could find (the previous one was 32"). This just about fits where the previous one was. We are happy with the picture, apps and Airplay2 is useful to us so a nice addition.
