Will it effect my credit rating if I don’t pick a car on PCP

Have ordered a BMW on PCP which was meant to be delivered last week.
Obviously with everything going on, it’s been delayed and I’m now down 1/2 pay.
Being prudent, when things start to improve I might have to give the new car a miss (obviously losing the deposit) but can the finance company mess with my credit record in doing that?

Great stuff - looked through all the fine print of the agreements I’ve signed so far (all online) and couldn’t see any decent reference to that specifically!
