McLaren have just posted on instagram that Carlos is off to Ferrari in 2021 on a 3 year deal.

Seems legit.

Is that an official McLaren Instagram account?

(I don’t really use Instagram so don’t know)

Ofiicial one is here:

https://www.instagram.com/mclaren/?hl=en

...so basically yes; b*llocks from a fan / fake account.

Plus McLaren never announce anything on Instagram first.

It popped up on Instagram at 5.50pm which is why I thought it was legit.

Oh well.

So. I was correct!!!

Should be a cracking season. Danny Ric & Lando at McLaren with sainz in the Ferrari.

I wonder if Seb will go to Renault or whether he will simply leave F1 altogether?

Well, you weren't correct in so much as it wasn't McLaren which was responsible for the (clearly fake) post but half of the story was good guess work!

Smooth Operator indeed.

LeClerc has proven his ability in a Ferrari but I think - unless he is directly ordered to back off and play Number Two - Sainz will give him a lot of headaches.
Just in my humble opinion.

I feel sorry for Nico Hulkenberg

He beat Sainz Jr when they were teammates at Renault and is out of an F1 drive. He would've made a great consistent number 2 for Ferrari and Leclerc.

Hulkenburg has done absolutely nothing in F1. He was indeed good in junior formulae, but not good enough for F1.

A lot true about that.... can't help wondering if he'd have done better than Bottas for example....in the Merc

Would Merc want that? They have won everything going with relatively little inter-driver stress. Would Hulk have brought more stress?
