Working Tax Credits vs Universal Credit?
Discussion
Having spent the last few years only running my sole trader business part time so I could care for my parents, my income has been pretty low, but things have now ground to a total halt as you might imagine.
A few years ago I was on Working Tax Credits, which was flexible and allowed my to earn a certain amount before the support tapered off, but now it seems Universal Credit is an option too. I don't want to apply for the wrong one, only to be told the other is more appropriate. (WTC didn't pay as "well" as unemployment benefit by the way). Has anyone any experience of which to apply for? Especially in the present CV19 situation.
I'm a bit bewildered as to the best way forward, but with no money coming in I need to do something!
