Which PC out of these 2?
Discussion
I have 2 PCs I use for work that mainly involves video editing/Photoshop but looking to do some gaming and am not sure which would be best to use.
One of has a better GPU but a slower CPU so which would you say is best for gaming/decent graphics.
Both run at 3440x1440 on 35" curved monitors
PC:1
i9-7900X @3.30
Geforce GTX 1080TI
32GB Ram
SSD boot / sata slave drives
PC: 2
i7-6900K @3.20
Geforce RTX 2080TI
32GB Ram
SSD boot / sata slave drives

Edited to add comparison info.
A 30-50% improvement in GPU performance and a 10% loss in CPU performance if opting for PC2.

Depends on the game. The main benefit of the 20 series cards over the 10 series is ray tracing. I'm not 100% sure what that actually is but only really new games actually use it. For older games I wouldn't expect to see much difference between the two, but the first one potentially being a bit better due to the newer processor. That said I doubt either processor is going to struggle with much so the second one is probably the sensible choice.
Can you swap the graphics card over?

PC 2 and there is no reason to swap the CPU. Just overclock it.
That's the same spec as my PC: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/32022290

Only reason I suggest the Ryzen 3900X is because of the increase in cores/threads. That CPU outperforms the Intel CPU's mentioned by quite a margin, potentially useful for the OP's original criteria. That's the same spec as my PC: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/32022290
At present I find it hard to recommend any Intel CPU as the current AMD Ryzen CPU's are simply superior.

I certainly wouldn't buy a 6900K new now but reading the OP he already has these PC's. 6900K is still a decent CPU and overclocked is basically comparable to a 3700XAt present I find it hard to recommend any Intel CPU as the current AMD Ryzen CPU's are simply superior.

Nice problem to have, could you run 3Dmark and Unigine and see what gets a better score? Some games prefer a better CPU, especially at 1080p but you'll be running higher than that.
He's running at 3440x1440. There's no need to benchmark them. PC 2 has the better GPU.HRL said:

Both the Intel CPUs the OP owns are already good for gaming, so no point to upgrading. I had a look on Passmark and I was surprised at how well the AMD CPUs are benchmarked. I thought their single core performance might be letting them down, but that's really good too.At present I find it hard to recommend any Intel CPU as the current AMD Ryzen CPU's are simply superior.
I'm glad AMD are making a comeback and that Intel have some serious competition again.

Yeah, that machine is about 3-4 years old now and bought the 2080TI last year for faster video rendering. I think it had a 1070 when i bought it.HRL said:

A lot of games won't use those multiple cores though and will run better on a machine with a higher clock speed than one with more cores. At present I find it hard to recommend any Intel CPU as the current AMD Ryzen CPU's are simply superior.

Bloody hell, why even comment if you haven't got a f**king clue Can you swap the graphics card over?

Just use the system with the RTX2080Ti.
