Chassis protection
Discussion
My 1996 Griff 500 has always been garaged and has only done 27k miles. I do less than 1000 miles a year. Consequently the chassis is in good condition and apart from a bit of touch up paint each year it is in original condition. My question is, should I worry about applying a protective coating if it has survived such good condition to date?
Personally I would just carry on doing what you are doing as it obviously works!
I have a '99 Griff and although that has recently clocked up 50K miles, the chassis is also original with no rusty outriggers. Garaging, cleaning underneath maybe once a year and touching up any surface rust seems to work for me too.
