vantage sills - earlier / later design interchangeable?

can the later 4.7 sills be replaced with earlier 'classic' simpler design easily / inexpensively?

Do they simply clip into identical fittings - 'clip and go?'

If I ever get the funds, i may be drawn to the 4.7 for more relaxed torque but much prefer the purer early design

1) Yes, they are interchangeable.
2) The later sills are not "4.7" sills. They were introduced on the 4.3L N400 for MY08. The original sills were standard through early MY2012. The N400 style sills became optional for MY2010, and standard as of MY12.25. So, as JonnyCJ mentioned, an early(ish) 4.7 can have the original sills from the factory.
3) I agree, the original design -- sills, and front/rear valences -- is perfect.
